Mission:
Episode 1: Shadows of Diplomacy
Location: Risa, Mist Residence
Timeline: 09/21/2404 @ 1300 hrs
Tyler was walking around in casual clothing, trying not to draw any unnecessary attention as he looked around. He was trying to spot Rayven and Mindy and warn them about the dangers that they are potentially in. He knew from his reports that they were in the marketplace probably doing some shopping he wasn't exactly sure what they were doing but only he knew was they were in the marketplace.
After several minutes he found his Target, her pictures did not do her justice even though they were drop dead gorgeous he was just breathtaking. He had to tell himself this is an assignment Tyler don't even get involved in this. But he had to look again. "Lieutenant Mist?" Tyler called out as he waited for a response.
Rayven hearing someone call her name turned to look in direction the call had come from, taking Mindy's hand she walked over to where the man was standing "I'm Lieutenant Mist, I don't think we've met,"
"I am with Starfleet Intelligence, I have reason to believe that Eddie is on Risa." Tyler said, in a calm and collected tone. He did not want to scare the little girl or Rayven. Tyler waited to see how Rayven was going to react. He knew in public they were safe, to many witnesses. But they were not safe on Risa, well not while Eddie was on the run.
"I need to get word to my parents," Rayven said placing a protective hand on het daughter's shoulder. "He'll go after them to find us. Thank you for telling me. He's dangerous and I will not let him near my daughter. I need to go home, check on my parents and get off the planet."
"I think you are a secondary objective, he is suppose to meet an agent with the Orion Syndicate here on Risa. Any places you think he would go, to keep a low profile?" Tyler asked, as he waited for Rayven to respond.
Rayven thought for a few minutes then nodded. "There is an abandoned mine about three hours from here. No one goes there as it's been deemed off limits and dangerous. Perfect place for a meeting. Am I in some kind of trouble?"
"Not with Starfleet Intelligence, but I can not say the same for the Orion Syndicate. I am hoping to intercept him and capture him before he can make his rendezvous and lock him up again." Tyler suggested to Rayven. He did not reassure her, mainly because he could not. He had a feeling that Eddie would reach out to her. But he had a mission to complete first, so that gave Tyler a chance to intercept him. He knew that Rayven would be his weakness.
"I hope you can too and when you do lose the key. I never want to see him and I will not let him near my daughter," Rayven said.
Who mommy," Mindy asked.
"A bad man." Rayven replied "That's all you need to know. Mommy will take care of you."
"That's where you both are wrong." A man came out of nowhere. He was tall, and had dark hair. He appeared out of the crowd. It was not Eddie. "My associate wondered if he was being followed." The unknown man said, with a big grin on his face. He was happy that made Tyler, and now that he had. The man would not be invisible to them. They would see him coming from a mile away.
Unknown to the man Tyler, was the decoy. There were other agents on Risa. Tyler had a team with him, but he was not going to release that information just yet. Tyler wanted to see where this moment was going to go.
"Miss Mist, Eddie sends his regards, and is sorry he could not stop by to see you personally." The Unknown man said, with a twisted and big grin on his face.
Rayven looked at the two men picked up Mindy "So this was a set up. You can tell Eddie that he better stay away from us, or I'll kill him." She turned to head out. Rayven could run all she needed was an opening.
"Kill him, lady you do not have the skill set to kill master mind like Eddie, you are out of your league. It's time you learned the truth about your precious Eddie." The man said, as he tried to tap his combadge, but it was not working. He looked confused.
Tyler was calm and patient. "Mr Fargo, that's not going to work here. You see, I was expecting you. So I took steps to prepare for your arrival. Damping fields are very useful to prevent communications and transporter fields from getting a solid lock." Tyler said, as regular starfleet officers appeared and took him into custody.
"I'll see you soon Fargo." Tyler said, as the man was dragged away. He then turned his full attention back on Rayven and Mindy. They were both still near his location.
"Sorry about that ladies, it was not my call. But we needed Mr Fargo captured. We had a feeling that Eddie would not take you in public, he would hire goons for that. Hopefully Fargo can give us the access codes, no doubt that Eddie has placed his own force fields to try to keep my teams out." Tyler said, as he looked to Rayven.
"Eddie is a sneaky, conniving worm. You want an access code try her birthday," Rayven said "How do I know I can trust you now?"
"We're Starfleet. To some of us it's more than a saying. It's a way of life a purpose. I swore to protect Starfleet and the Federation." Tyler suggested, not liking his integrity being challenged. "You were never in danger. This place is swarming with security and intelligence officers and operatives."
"I'm sorry my defenses went up. I'm not worried about me, I can take care of myself, it's her," Rayven said kissing the top of Mindy's head.
"Mommy who was that man and who is Eddie?" Mindy asked.
"Bad men," Rayven replied "That's all you need to know,"
"I have orders to extract you both, command has new orders for you. Report to the Scharnhorst as her Chief Science Officer." Tyler said to her. He was being direct.
"I'll have to do some packing and she's going to want to bring Wizzer along. How soon do I have to report?" Rayven asked.
"Mommy I wanna dive," Mindy said.
"Sorry little one, not here but maybe in deep space we can let you take a turn at the helm, assuming your mom's okay with that." Tyler said with the big wing on his face and a smile.
"You mean I can't dive now?" Mindy asked disappointed
"You know how Starfleet works. I'm sure the ship will have a holo deck and you can dive there. Let's go get Wizzer, pack and we'll head out to our new assignment. And yes if she wants to pilot the shuttle I'm good with it," Rayven said hugging her daughter. "It's been a little while since we were on a starship,"
Tyler smiled as his team took away the wannabe so-called kidnapper, but at the moment he was more worried about the safety of Rayven and Mindy. "I assume we both want to go home and say goodbye to your loved one for heading out plus gather your things?" Tyler asked trying to be sympathetic but also knowing they're on the time schedule.
"I do, there are a few things I need to pack, Mindy is going to want her dog and my parents will want to know I've been assigned to a ship," Rayven replied "It won't take me long as I'm sure you'll need to be underway quickly,"
"I will have the runabout standing by, we will beam you up and then beam you back down to your parents place. We don't want to be late, the faster we get you out of here, the better. You are vulnerable here." Tyler suggested to her, more as a guideline of what they were going to do, and not more of a suggestion.
Rayven wanted to protest as her parents home was less than a mile from the market place but with Eddie on Risa her main concern was keeping Mindy away from him. "It will take me about ten minutes to pack let my parents know where we'll be and to pick up Wizzer."
"I'm going to keep it transporter lock on both of you, here takes this device it'll let you know if you're walking into a jammer if you start hearing a buzz then do not proceed any further get away from the buzzing sound that easily indicates that there's some kind of electronical interference. I don't want to lose my lock on you." Tyler suggested to her as he handed her a small little device that she placed on her shirt.
"Give us ten minutes and we'll be ready," Rayven said.
"I will be standing by at the transporter console." Tyler said, as he waited patiently. But deep down, he was eager to get her on the move. She was vulnerable on Risa.
Once Rayven and Mndy beamed down to her parents house, "Hi mum, I've been assigned to a new star ship. There is a shuttle waiting for Mindy and I."
" Your dad and I hate to see the two of you go but we knew this when you joined Starfleet. How soon before you have to leave?" Darla asked.
"Now, we have ten minutes to pack, Mindy is taking Wizzer," Rayven said, "I don't know how true the rumors are but I've heard Eddie might be on the planet so you and dad be on the lookout."
"We will," Darla assured her.
Ten minutes later Rayven had packed two duffels one for her and one for Mindy, Snapping on the leash to the Beagle she hugged her parents goodbye. "I'll be in touch as soon as we're settled."
"Don't worry about anything we're safe here so go enjoy your new ship assignment," Ryon said as they walked to the door.
Rayven tapped the communications device, "Tyler we're ready to beam up. We're all packed."
"Energizing now." Tyler said, as the scene starts to fade away.
